Perseverance pays off for S.C. State’s Pearson
Nygel Pearson is finally reaping the benefits of being healthy. After three surgeries, the South Carolina State right tackle has become a force on the offensive line for the Bulldogs, who clinched the MEAC title last week and earned a spot in the I-AA playoffs for the first time since 1982.

Travil Jamison rushed for three touchdowns, and William Ford and Anthony Campbell each added a pair of endzone runs as South Carolina State pummeled Howard 56-0.

Oh, brother: Hamlins to face each other Saturday
For one weekend at least, Jeannette and Mike Hamlin won’t have to decide which of their sons’ games they will attend. The couple’s three children, Michael, Markee and Marquis, will face each other Saturday when Clemson hosts S.C. State at Memorial Stadium.
