Marshall McFadden stopped second-guessing himself after suffering a season-ending injury last month. The S.C. State linebacker refuses to ask what if he should have taped up more before practice or gotten to the ball sooner while trying to break up a pass.

Nygel Pearson is finally reaping the benefits of being healthy. After three surgeries, the South Carolina State right tackle has become a force on the offensive line for the Bulldogs, who clinched the MEAC title last week and earned a spot in the I-AA playoffs for the first time since 1982.

Travil Jamison rushed for three touchdowns, and William Ford and Anthony Campbell each added a pair of endzone runs as South Carolina State pummeled Howard 56-0.

For one weekend at least, Jeannette and Mike Hamlin won’t have to decide which of their sons’ games they will attend. The couple’s three children, Michael, Markee and Marquis, will face each other Saturday when Clemson hosts S.C. State at Memorial Stadium.
