A second former Coker College baseball player has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a Hartsville woman four years ago.

The Coastal baseball team announced its schedule Wednesday, and Gary Gilmore called it the toughest schedule his team has every played, and one of the two or three toughest non-conference schedules in the country.

The Francis Marion University baseball program will hold three Fall Showcases for high school and junior college players on Saturday, Sept. 26, Saturday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 14.  All three events will run from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Byerly Park hosted the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Perfect Catch Classic on Saturday and Sunday.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans turned a season of broken series and homestand attendance records into another milestone by setting a new mark for average attendance per game along with a slew of other single-season records

It would’ve been almost impossible for the 2009 Pelicans to replicate the season their predecessors had.

The 2009 Myrtle Beach Pelicans season ends tonight. Despite a last place finish on the field and a bad year for the economy, the Pelicans nearly set all-time highs in attendance.
