Atlantic Beach Mayor Retha Pierce will appear in a Myrtle Beach court on Tuesday.

After Myrtle Beach got ripped pretty well by biker and business groups over low turnout in May the Harley bikers will be having a fall rally and now Atlantic Beach is talking about doing the same thing.

North Strand Helping Hand (NSHH) will be hosting a mass food distribution in Atlantic Beach for anyone in need of food.

Members of the Carolina Knight Riders said they have been promoting and hosting bike fest since 1980, and they aren’t going to stop now.

It is day two of bike week and the attendance is noticeably down than in the previous years.

Atlantic Beach town council met Tuesday night but it didn’t last for long. It didn’t take long for Mayor Retha Pierce to cancel the scheduled town meeting, because a town attorney was not present.

Atlantic Beach Police arrested Retha Pierce, the town’s newly-elected mayor late Friday and charged her with hit and run. Pierce claims she did not know her car was damaged in the accident when she left the scene Friday afternoon.
