A public hearing was held in Atlantic Beach to validate the challenged ballots cast on Tuesday. Now, the Atlantic Beach results have been certified and the final counts are in.

Monday night, Atlantic Beach town council held its first council meeting since Governor Mark Sanford suspended Mayor Retha Pierce. Pierce was also at the meeting.  She walked into the community center during the public comment portion, about ten minutes into the meeting.

This is the first meeting that Mayor Pro Tem Charlene Taylor is expected to preside over.
