A Williamsburg County man has been sentenced to seven years in prison on a federal gun charge. U.S. District Judge Bryan Harwell sentenced 42-year-old Billy Joe Moon of Andrews for being a felon in possession of firearms.

The state treasurer’s office has announced it will withhold payments to nearly 20 municipalities — including Olanta, Quinby, Sellers, Andrews, Lynchburg and Atlantic Beach — until the towns and cities submit their annual audits.

Deputies are trying to determine if they will arrest a Andrews man they say shot a Salters man Sunday, Williamsburg County Sheriff Kelvin Washington said.

One man is dead after a shooting in Georgetown County. Coroner Kenny Johnson says 22 year-old Antonio Tisdale of Andrews was shot once in the left chest.
