LAURINBURG - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Friday the Scotland Cancer Treatement Center hosted its fourth annual breast cancer awareness walk.
About 70 participants walked a mile around the Scotland Health Care System campus. The hospital also served lunch to the participantsm and recognized breast cancer patients and survivors.
Organizers say the event is designed to provide information about preventing the disease.
Survivors say they appreciate the community’s support.
