Wednesday marks the two-year anniversary of the Ocean Isle Beach fire, that killed seven South Carolina college students.
Early in the morning of Oct. 28, 2007, fire roared through the home killing the students – six who attended USC and one who attended Clemson.
One of those who died was USC freshman Will Rhea of Florence.
Several of the survivors were from the Pee Dee—including Will Rhea’s older brother, Andrew Rhea.
Investigators determined the fire started with a lit cigarette on the deck of the house.
Reader Reactions
Sorry, I meant William Rhea. I see that Andrew is the brother who survived.
My deepest sympathy for family & friends of Andrew Rhea and all the young lives lost that day.
