Myrtle Beach Democratic Rally

Horry County Democrats are getting in one final word before Election Day.
Grand Strand Democratic Party members hosted a fish fry for Linda Ketner, democratic candidate for District #1 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Herbert Riley, Precinct Chairman of Coastal Lane # 1 in Myrtle Beach said the purpose of the fish fry is to get out the vote. Riley said Tuesday will be a historic election one way or the other, but he hopes Obama wins. “I can think of a lot of good reasons living here that I would want him to win, his family’s connected through Georgetown, the springboard that enabled him to make it through Super Tuesday was held here, so Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in general, I think it would benefit us to have him as President.” said Riley.
In addition to Ketner, speakers at the fish fry included Myrtle Beach councilman Mike Chestnut, Horry County councilman Marion Foxworth, council chair Liz Gilland, and local NAACP President Mickey James.

Thanks WBTW for your coverage of our rally on Nov. 3. We hope you enjoyed the speeches, food, music, and atmosphere of unity throughout the Grand Strand political community that we attempted to project. Special thanks to all the Ms. Ketner, Councilman Foxworth, Mt. Olive AME Zion Church and all the hard-working volunteers who made it happen. And an extra special thanks to former Horry County school-board member Johnny Evans who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make our plan a reality.
