LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Jimmy Gregg best person for sheriff

In response to James Rhodes “re-elect” letter with all the problems and crime around today you are worried if Jimmy Gregg’s campaign poster reading: “Re-elect Jimmy Gregg for Florence County Sheriff.”
You should concern yourself with words like “competence and fairness.”
I’m eager to put the right person in position.
Here are some words that bother me — “bait and switch.”
Kenney Boone was voted in as a Democrat and then he switched to a Republican.
I guess fooling the good folks to get in office is OK

Webster defines re-elect as “to elect again” and that’s why we will re-elect Jimmy Gregg for sheriff, again.

What a joke. Did Jimmy write this himself? The Jimmy supports are missing the point here i guess. PEOPLE come on now. All of Florence will fall if Gregg is elected. The county will look like the city. Scary huh?
Jimmy Gregg is on a quest to empower himself with this bid for re-election. His ego is exceeded only by his greed for power, and the chutzpah of his minions is remarkable. How fair was it that Gregg wanted Sheriff Boone to run the office his (Gregg’s) way after leaving it? Was it competence that led Jimmy to testify in federal court on behalf of a known criminal? Sheriff Boone’s choice to switch parties sits just fine with me, as often enough, one finds that the ideals once adhered to by a group of those in politics changes to suit their own needs. Nobody complains about that, and when an individual chooses to find a group that has ideals more in line with their personal philosophy, then I won’t attach blame to them for doing so. Sheriff Boone’s record vs. EX-sheriff Gregg’s is what I’m basing my vote on, and I hope those who read this do likewise…regardless of party affiliation.
The day is fast coming upon us when the party alliance will destroy America. We are a pretty naive nation when we march in lock step to a Political Party. America will get what she deserves,you can count on it.
