LETTER TO THE EDITOR: If words offend, turn TV off; punishment for DUI absurd

Joe Griffin spouted off with his concerns over Letterman’s jokes. Very simple fix, Mr. Griffin. Don’t watch Letterman. If his words offend you, turn the television off.
Pro football player Donte Stallworth was convicted of DUI manslaughter. While driving responsibly drunk, acting like a drunken man and cooperating fully drunk with the police he killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. This drunken pro football player was sentenced to 30 days in jail and then to make this punishment real tough, two years of house arrest and eight years probation. The judge, investigators and anyone else involved in this crime, should serve the sentence this drunken football player should have served. This sentence is beyond any sense of justice there is. The family of the dead man accepted a pay off that was not revealed. That is what it was, a pay off.
Evidently, the dead man did not mean a lot to this family or these people are diehard football fans. The deal may have even included season tickets to all home games with free refreshments and free beer. Then there is the house arrest. This convicted killer still gets to play football under house arrest. I guess that means he practices in his mansion. It is big enough for the entire football team to practice in. Maybe the dead man’s family will get to drive the pro football player’s Bentley as part of the deal.
This is one of the most absurd things I have read in recent times. This is just unbelievable. Maybe that article was just a joke.
