LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Democrats, Republicans share blame for problems
Published: September 5, 2008
Our great nation is collapsing, and those we have sent to serve in our government are to blame, both Democrat and Republican.
We have outsourced American jobs to other nations and have made them strong. China’s influence is increasing around the world. Their goal is to have a Navy that will be four times the size of the American Navy. How is China getting so strong? They have our jobs, and they hold notes in the USA. In other words, China ownership in the USA increases yearly. By the way, China will return the favor and crush us when they are able.
We continue to bless our sworn enemies of Arab countries by buying their oil. They return the favor by trying to destroy our country.
Either our politicians are crooked and self-centered, or they are as dumb as a bag of rocks. Either way we need term limits in both the House and Senate. We must look at their voting records and turn a deaf ear on their syrupy talk.
America was once the supreme super power in the world. That was not due to our own intellect, but by God’s Grace. We have demanded God to leave our nation, but have failed to realize that God’s blessing travel to where He is welcomed.
In addition to our enemies being blessed because of our failing to honor God, the folks who work are being asked to support those who do not.
I do not believe I am alone when I say I had my fill of liberal senators who punish hard work by taking more money, and rewarding laziness with a free ride.
Welfare in America needs to be overhauled. It has ceased to be a temporary help to those in need; it has become an entitlement to the lazy.
Senators who receive any type of favor from special interest lobbyists should be forced to resign.
Now to my fellow Christian brothers and sisters, shame on all of us for sitting back and allowing evil to progress. I will no longer be silent. We are supposed to proclaim the gospel to the world boldly, but we are guilty of sitting on the premises rather than standing on the promises of the Lord.
While the world says no to God, we stand in silence. That is not sad, it is pathetic.
True Americans need to be a burr in the seat of our government. The liberal evil that has befallen our nation must be turned back. Then we can truly say that America is one nation under God.

So, are you suggesting that all those seeking welfare should be slaughtered, and the meat distributed to the starving peoples of the world—
Or, are you suggesting that it’s smarter to quit a job and seek welfare for the steak and pork chops that an EBT card can buy?
I saw a bumbper sticker for sale the other day “work harder, millions on welfare are depending on you.“ I then looked at how much was held out of my paycheck and shook my head. I then went to the grocery store and watched the person in front of me buy 2 buggy loads of food including steaks and pork chops with a little EBT card while all I could afford was ground beef and potatoes.
Doug,
Amen and Amen. Couldn’t have said it better myself. So consider yourself joined in prayer for this nation, this world. Great letter.
Not atheist, and not agnostic, as that term was created by Thomas H. Huxley, but I do greatly appreciate the thinking of John Shelby Spong, who very probably is creating a new definition of agnostic with his current writings.
I never argue religion, since my background and knowledge of the world’s religions would place the average person at a distinct disadvantage, and there would be nothing to gain from the debate.
I have no doubt you are an atheist or agnostic and I am not going to argue with you about religion. I have nothing to be scared or afraid of. Standards, morals or values have always been around and they are forever changing and we will just accept the fact we are going to differ.
God did not create democracy and capitalism; it’s a creation of self-absorbed humans, who denominated it an “American Dream,“ and who selfishly believe that God’s Grace compelled that it be so, while the rest of the world begs to differ.
If you’re scared, say you’re scared, but don’t selfishly demand that the whole world drop to its knees and beg God to “part the sea.“
Doug:
You are so correct it is scary but we have begun to reap what we have sowed. America has A Reprobabte Mind.
