A Florence woman has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Florence man more than a month ago, Florence Police Lt. James Rodgers said.

Lauren Precious Wells, 23, of 702 Page St., was arrested early Wednesday morning and is charged with accessory before the fact of a violent felony and accessory after the fact of a felony or murder, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show. She remains in custody at the jail in Effingham awaiting a bond hearing.

Anthony D. Robinson, 26, apparently was trying to get into a vehicle in the 300 block of North Dargan Street when a man came up to him and shot him with a rifle sometime between 2 and 2:30 a.m. Sept. 4, according to Florence police reports.

The suspect fled in another vehicle after the shooting and Robinson made his way to nearby Trinity Baptist Church. Police said bystanders tried to give Robinson CPR in the church parking lot, but Robinson was pronounced dead at an area hospital about 3 a.m. that day.

The shooting suspect is described as a black man about 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds who appeared to be about 25 years old, according to police reports.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the police department at (843) 676-8800 or the state Crime Stoppers hotline at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.

No matter this lady’s reasoning, nothing could have been worth knowing about or helping to end another life.

Well all I can say is I hope she (Ms. VIP) gets just what she deserves. I’m not suprised by her actions bc she has no respect for herself or others (OPP).I wonder if she was drunk when this senseless crime was committed. She needs to suffer along with the guy who actually committed the crime; she wasn’t the trigger guy but she’s just as guilty as the trigger guy. You won’t get out of this one ole gal…

i’m so glad they have her bc he had kids and a child that haven’t been born yet, now the kids r going to grow up without a father and the baby will never get to see him in person and i am going to have to explain it to them when they start to ask questions, i am also stuck raising two kids on my own, not that it’s a problem but a child needs a father in there life. i knew her when we were in school and i never had a problem with her but that wasn’t necessary and i wish i could tell her this myself bc i have alot of words for her.

I agree with you Danali80. Families are the backbone of society.
“Keep your head up lil cuz. I know it’s going to be a rough road to travel but you can only take it every inch until you reach that mile.“ Not sure if this was meant as a comment, which is what this section is intended for, or just another attempt to get the pot stirred up. Of course, based on previous posts, I believe it’s more of the latter.

I understand that you always love your family no matter what, but you don’t have to support them when they make bad decisions to PROVE that you love them. More families need to practice ‘tough love’. You let your family know that when they do wrong they will have to pay for their actions and that they’ve disappointed the whole family! My uncle got arrested for robbery once. Our whole family showed up at the court house when he was let out on bond.. and it wasn’t to hug him and tell him we loved him. It was to grab him by the ear and tell him how much of a dummy he was and that his behavior would NOT be tolerated by our family. That was over 10 years ago and he hasn’t been in trouble since. If people would stop supporting $tupid actions and decisions by their family members maybe they would straighten up!
