Crash closes Williamsburg County road

A portion of S.C. 261 in Williamsburg County near Kingstree was closed Thursday night after a one-vehicle crash, S.C. Highway Patrol and Williamsburg County dispatch reports show.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. at Red Road and S.C. 261 near Kingstree and Hemingway, S.C. Highway Patrol reports show.

Dispatchers originally received reports of a vehicle crashing into a ditch, S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said. Williamsburg County authorities shut down the highway near the crash Thursday night.
