Two arrested in Timmonsville robbery

Authorities arrested two people Thursday after a robbery at Strickland’s Mini Mart.

William Dickey, 22 of 421 Hill Road, Timmonsville, SC was arrested and charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, and assault and battery with intent to kill.

Also arrested is Morris Hickson,18, of 102 Green Street,Timmonsville.  He is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, grand Larceny, possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime and assault and battery with intent to Kill.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says on Aug. 6 Dickey and Hickson entered Strickland’s Mini Mart at 303 Cale Yarborough Highway near Timmonsville and robbed the store at gunpoint, then shot the female store clerk in the head with a sawed off shotgun.

“Our Investigators have worked night and day since last Thursday to be able to make these arrests. I am so proud of their efforts,” Sheriff Kenney Boone said.

Both suspects are held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
