The American Institute for Foreign Study has awarded The King’s Academy in Florence the 2009 Tony Cook Memorial Grant.

This is the fourth year in a row the academy has received the $1,000 grant, which benefits its Missions Scholarship Fund. Missions week takes place every March and allows students to participate in local, national and international missions. The Missions Scholarship Fund aids students with the cost of these trips.

The King’s Academy was recognized for encouraging and supporting the goals of international education and for making an impact on students, both American and exchange students, by teaching and sharing foreign language, history and culture. Families of The King’s Academy host several students a year through the AIFS Foundation’s Academic Year in America program.
