A 14-year-old and a 15-year-arrested in connection with the death of Willie Mae Hayes in Florence nearly a year ago have been charged as adults, 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements III said.

Rakeem Floyd, 14, and Anthony Wilson, 15, face first-degree burglary, armed robbery and murder charges, said Clements, who is prosecuting the case.

Judge Ralph King Anderson Jr. handed down the ruling, he said.

Hayes, 69, was found dead on Malloy Street on Aug. 27 after she was reported missing by her family two days earlier.

Probable gang initiation. The same force that is being used against terrorists overseas needs to be used against gangs in the US. Gang members are domestic terrorists. If they want to be in a gang, how about a chain gang.

Seems like parents don’t care like they used to. I know it took a village to raise me.

Insane. Where were/are the parents of these ‘children’ and why would the kids have hatred and meanness like this in their hearts? It is almost incomprehensible!
