Suspect in Johnsonville shooting turns self in

Detainer Lashon Davis, 29, of 311 Liberty St. in Johnsonville, was taken into custody Monday and formally charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis was taken into custody Monday when he turned himself in to Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.  According to the warrants, Davis shot the victim, the mother of his five children, multiple times as the victim lay on the ground. The victim has been receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at an area hospital.  As of this press release, Davis was being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
