Most voter registration offices in the Pee Dee will be open part of the day Saturday, the deadline for residents to register to vote in the Nov. 4 general election.
But those who want to vote this fall should register as soon as possible, said Florence County interim Voter Registration and Elections Director Steve Love.
“Don’t wait until the last minute, because the crowd is getting larger every day,” he said.
The following Pee Dee voter registration offices will be open Saturday:
- Darlington County — 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Florence County — 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Marion County — 8:30 a.m. to noon
- Marlboro County — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Williamsburg County — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Chesterfield and Dillon counties’ voter registration offices will be closed Saturday.
The registration deadline, which falls one month before the primaries, applies to residents who aren’t registered to vote as well as voters who have moved to another county and must update their registration.
A voter can register in person at his or her county voter registration office.
Voter registration forms also can be mailed to county registration offices, but voters must ensure that the forms are postmarked by Saturday, S.C. State Election Commission spokesman Chris Whitmire said.
Voter registration forms can be found in the Voter Information section at http://www.scvotes.org.
