One arrested in Dillon County home invasion

One of two suspects sought in connection with a home invasion and shooting Sunday near Latta has been arrested, according to Dillon County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Adrian Smith, 22, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and armed robbery, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crime happened Sunday night at a residence on Sparta Drive. Two men wearing disguises broke into the residence and robbed a man at gunpoint. Investigators said one of the suspects shot a man living inside the home.

The shooting victim is being treated at an area hospital, but his condition isn’t available.
