Northeastern Tech offers new program

A new online certificate program designed to prepare students for employment as an entry level power plant operator is available through Northeastern Technical College’s Continuing Education Division.

The Power Plant Technology certificate program costs $3,159 or, $351 per course, and is Work force Investment Act approved.

Students will attend class, interact with the instructor and submit course assignments online. Those without Internet access or access to a computer can use the college’s computers during normal college and computer lab operation hours.

The first course, “Power Plant Fundamentals,” will begin in May. Eight additional courses will be required to complete the program and students must pass the Power Plant Operator Selection Test.
