Miracle Temple Family Fellowship will hold its first Parade of Churches on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Lake View.

The parade is in honor of Robert and Tunya Roundtree, pastors of Miracle Temple. They are celebrating their 22nd pastoral anniversary.

“The public’s presence is greatly needed and welcomed,” Robert Roundtree said. “We ask that you put your imaginations to the test by decorating a float for this great event. It’s going to be a joyous time filled with excitement, food and fun.”

Roundtree said the floats may be used to represent any auxiliary in the church.

“If pastors would like,” he said, “they may drive their cars in the parade with signs posted on each side with their church name, their names and years of ministry.”

The best float will receive a Parade of Churches trophy to commemorate the auspicious occasion.

Regarding entrepreneurs, Roundtree said, “Now here’s an opportunity to advertise and make people more familiar with the different businesses within the churches. Individuals may choose to do a float or put together an exciting group depicting their business.”

Praise dancers also are welcome.

“If you have a dance ministry and would like to participate, please do so,” he said. “Let God use you to minister to the world.”

Roundtree said this event is being held to bring together area churches and people of all nationalities.

“We believe that’s what God’s church looks like,” he said. “There’s not a better way to celebrate than to incorporate people in the business of God.”

The motivational speaker will be the Rev. Earl Goings, pastor of Faith Tabernacle Christian Center in St. Paul, N.C. He will speak at 1 p.m.

It was through the witnessing of Earl and Michael Goings that Robert and Tunya went into the ministry. Michael Goings is bishop of Outreach Family Fellowship in Dillon.

“We will have several guest choirs and a guest appearance from Pappy McCoy, a contestant from the TV show ‘Gospel Dream,’” Roundtree said. “We will also have our Youth Explosion featuring activities, food and singing.”

Miracle Temple moved into its worship center in 1986.
