McLeod Regional Medical Center is gearing up for it’s Fourth Annual Festival of Trees.

Hospital employees have spent this week decorating the McLeod Medical Plaza with an assortment of trees, wreaths, and various other holiday decorations. It’s all part of an event that’s designed to bring in the holiday spirit and benefit the McLeod Children’s Hospital.

From November 9-20, trees will be on display throughout the Plaza, including one donated by the House of Blues that features decorations signed by famous performers.

There are also seven trees that the public can bid on during a silent auction.

“It’s a good way to kick off the Christmas season,“ said Phebe Holcombe, the event’s volunteer chair. “You can come pick out your tree and take it home, you don’t have to worry about pulling all the stuff out of the attic. You can just take the tree home and sit it in your house and you’re ready to go.“

The event culminates with a day with Santa on November 21. Parents can pay $25 to sign their kids up for a day that features a holiday meal, a picture with Santa and other activities.

A portion of the money raised during the two-week event goes to the McLeod Children’s Hospital.
