A man was treated at a local hospital during the weekend after being shot by his brother Saturday night in Darlington, according to a press release from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Ernest Elvin Yow Jr. of 1941 Cashua Ferry Road is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, but the charge might change depending on the final status of the victim, according to the release.
The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but the extent of the wounds are unknown as of press time Sunday.
The victim had surgery Sunday, but an update on his status was unavailable, Chief Deputy Tom Gainey said.
Deputies responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. at Yow’s residence, where the shooting occurred, but no other details have been released.
