An Effingham man was arrested Tuesday after deputies said they found more than a pound of marijuana at a home on Smallwood Road, according to a press release issued Friday by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel Bishop Turner, 26, of 114 Smallwood Road, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.

Deputies searched the home Tuesday and found one and a half pounds of marijuana, scales, pipes and baggies there, according to the release.

A large portion of the marijuana was packaged for sale. The street value of the marijuana is estimated about $4,000, the release said.

Turner was released Wednesday from the jail in Effingham after posting bail.

Kudos once again to the Sheriff’s Department for their efforts to keep our City clean and get rid of unwanted drugs and the criminals selling them.  No political agenda - just good old fashion police work.  Imagine what Florence would be like without the law of the Sheriff.
