Man accused of breaking into new Florence Little Theatre

A Clio man was arrested early Wednesday after police caught him breaking into the new Florence Little Theatre on South Dargan Street, Florence Police Lt. James Rodgers said.

Danny Lee Clark, 37, of 2018 Norton Circle is charged with first-degree burglary, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.

The incident happened just after midnight when some people standing near the building saw the suspect breaking in and called police, Rodgers said. No items were reported missing from the building, which is still under construction.

Clark remains in custody at the jail in Effingham awaiting a bond hearing.
