Latta woman shot, suspect sought

LATTA—A woman was shot and taken to a Florence hospital Tuesday after an early morning dispute, Dillon County Sheriff Major Hulon said.

The incident happened at about 1:45a.m. at a home on Kendrick Circle in Latta when the victim and her boyfriend began arguing.  The boyfriend apparently shot the woman in the leg, Hulon said.

Deputies were originally given misleading information about the case but were later able to determine what happened after the victim was interviewed at the hospital, he said.

Investigators are obtaining arrests warrants and expect to have a suspect in custody soon, the sheriff said.
