A Lamar man has been captured in connection with a shooting that happened almost three months ago, Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd said.

Anthony Maurice “Tiger” McFadden, 24, was caught about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, Byrd said in a press release.

The suspect was wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Nov. 16 on Brown Street in Lamar. The shooting apparently was prompted by an argument between the suspect and the victim, who was treated and released from an area hospital.

Deputies teamed up with Lamar Police Chief Charles Woodle and his officers in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to make the arrest, Byrd said.

McFadden remains in custody at the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
