Jefferson teen dies after being struck by car

A Jefferson teen died Thursday after he was struck by a car, S.C. Highway Patrol reports show.

Chesterfield County Coroner Kip Kiser declined to release the boy’s name.

The crash happened Thursday at about 11:15 p.m. on S.C. 151 when a 1990 Chevrolet truck traveling south on the roadway struck the 15-year-old as he was walking in the same direction, according to highway patrol reports.

Troopers said the driver was unable to avoid striking the boy.

The crash is still under investigation by the highway patrol.
