Incumbent mayor wins McColl special election

Gary Quick Sr. will remain in place as mayor of McColl, a small Marlboro County town near the Carolinas’ state line

Months after only one vote separated candidates in the McColl mayoral election, the incumbent Quick won a slightly more decisive decision over challenger Ray Grier in a special election Tuesday.

Quick received 510 votes, while Grier garnered 437, according to Marlboro County election officials. There were 25 provisional ballots, and the election was certified Wednesday morning.

Back in May, challenges to the one-vote victory lead to elections officials to call for a special election.

Since I am allowed my opinion, I think the whole political, judicial, and personal acts in Marlboro County are corrupt.

I guess the people of McColl like have a crooked mayor.  I agree it’s high time he start wearing an orange jumpsuit!

Once again, corruption wins out in Marlboro County. It seems that Quick should be wearing an orange jump suit by now. I guess because people were led to believe that jobs would be lost if Grier was elected. It would seem that if people believed corruption leads to corruption, it would make them think twice. Evidently not. I say, that if you vote for corruption, YOU are corrupt too.
