Darlington County deputies have arrested a Hartsville man in connection with a robbery and counterfeit shoes seizure.

Morris Kenyette Mazyck Jr., 37, of 2303 N. Center Road, is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, grand larceny and trafficking counterfeit goods, according to a Darlington County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Deputies initially were investigating the case of an Atlanta man who was robbed of his car at gunpoint Sunday, according to the release. It led Darlington County Drug Enforcement Unit officers, along with Secretary of State Office agents, to search Mazyck’s residence Monday afternoon where they found $28,810 in counterfeit shoes.

Both cases remain under investigation and more charges are possible, according to the release.
