Governor’s School to have Discovery Session

The S.C. Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics will hold a Discovery Session at 7 p.m. Thursday at Florence-Darlington Technical College, Building 7000, Room 7104.

Prospective high school sophomores and their parents are invited to attend. School staff, current students and alumni will be on hand to answer questions regarding the school, residence life, curriculum and the admissions process.

The school is a public, residential high school for academically talented and motivated juniors and seniors. Admission to the school is highly selective, as class rank, standardized test scores, recommendations and extracurricular activities are considered. The application deadline is March 1.
