Officers are looking for the man who broke into a woman’s home and hit her with a handgun, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

The incident happened Wednesday at a home on Harmony Street. The woman told police she heard a knock at the door, opened it and found a man standing on her porch with a gun, Raines said.

The suspect forced his way inside, asked the victim where she kept her money and said, “If you lie to me, I’ll kill you.” The suspect struck her in the head with his gun and left the house, Raines said.

Anyone with information on the suspects’ wherabouts is asked to call the police department at (843) 665-3191 or the state Crime Stoppers hotline at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.

Okay…I learned as a child not to open doors before asking who it is and what do they want. 12:30 at night is just to risky to open a door for anyone even if I know who they are. This female need to exercise better judgement when it comes to sfety. This could have been for more dangerous than it was.
