A Florence man has been sentenced to 25 years in jail for molesting a 1-year-old boy, 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements III said.

Lorenzo Dominic Sellers, 23, of 407 Dixie St. was arrested May 16, 2008, and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor younger than 11, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.

Florence police said the abuse happened when a mother left her child in the suspect’s care. When the mother saw the toddler again, she noticed the toddler had several injuries to the face and body. Staff at a local hospital later discovered injuries to the child’s rectum.

Clements said a jury convicted Sellers of both criminal sexual conduct with a minor and unlawful conduct toward a child.

Twelfth Circuit Court Judge Ralph King Anderson Jr. sentenced Sellers to 25 years for the criminal sexual conduct charge and five years for the charge of unlawful conduct toward a child. The sentences will run concurrently.

Patricia Singleton Parr prosecuted the case for the solicitor’s office and Richard Strobel served as Sellers’ defense attorney.

Not that ya’ll asked but I can understand where both angelswalk and scarecrow is coming from. When I think about what he did honestly I want to hurt him and I have to pray about that. I know a sin is a sin and my sins doesn’t make me any better or worse than anyone else, and I don’t believe in torturing people either. He got what he deserved but I pray that nothing does happen to him as far as someone hurting him in anyway in jail. The biggest price he’s gonna have to pay is answering to God, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that’s mine. ps I do feel like you sometimes though angelswalk I can’t help it!!

I wouldn’t condone violence on my one enemy. Either the law handles it or God Himself does. Just like He will handle this one.
However it is just plain obvious if you don’t get to speak first, your position is on the side to stir. It’s usually there anyway.
Most of the time we can all ignore you. Now, back to ignoring or lmbo at the ignorance.

Angelsquawk: Better to remain silent and be thought of as mentally challenged than speak up and confirm the fact beyond a doubt [YOU]. Nothing is wrong with ME. I just do not believe in torturing people as most of the posters on this page apparently do. I take it you are in favor of staking criminals over ant hills and pouring syrup over them. Or suggesting that trashy criminals in the system should be allowed to administer justice to other inmates. My position is: I will defend and enforce law and order against ALL comers, including people who yearn to torture the guilty.

“When the mother saw the toddler again, she noticed the toddler had several injuries to the face and body. Staff at a local hospital later discovered injuries to the child’s rectum.“

No one else is going to question that last post or give thought on it?
What, you all know I will?
“What is wrong with you people?“ What is wrong with YOU?,  ‘posted October 15, 2009 at 8:04 pm”? I have heard you say some low and nasty things about people who haven’t done as bad as this man has and you seem to be defending him from the comments here? I have heard you slander one if you had just put the name with the comments.
Your words slay me! I don’t see how anyone could be much worse than this guy who sexually assaulted a baby with absolutely no defenses of its own!

What is wrong with you people? Try reading your posts carefully before hitting submit. Some of you are possibly as inhumane as the guilty party you would have sodomized or killed in jail by another animal who may be worse than him. What kind of sob would tie a person up next to an ant hill and pour syrup on him?  I understand the necessity and obligation to destroy an enemy. But in our society we do even that with regret.

I say cover him in syrup and tie him up next to a fire ant mound to start with.

The baby is my nephew and he’s almost 3, he’s fine now by the grace of God. I never thought this could have happened to my family, but in order for our sins to be forgiven we have to forgive him, which we have. He was like part of the family and we trusted him but that goes to show you can’t trust anyone!! This has caused so much pain to our family and his. He shows no remorse and rolled his eyes at trial when my sister (the baby’s mother), told him she forgave him. Well justice is served and he’s going to get everything coming to him.  God is the ultimate judge and he’s going to have to answer to everything he did to my baby!

It’s a shame to know someone that has done something so awful. Yea I hope he’s someone’s B*t*h in jail. He will probably like it. He needs a stronger sentence because when he gets out he’ll be 48 still able to conduct activities such as this….
