Florence brothers sentenced on drug charges
Two Florence brothers have been sentenced for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, U.S. Attorney W. Walter Wilkins said in a press release.
U.S. District Judge R. Bryan Harwell sentenced 28-year-old Kendrick Lavor Dials and 26-year-old Travis Sintell Dials were sentenced to 81 months and 78 months in prison, respectively. Kendrick Dials also was sentenced for possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Florence Police Department narcotics investigators received information that the Dials brothers were selling drugs from an apartment complex. On May 6, 2005, they searched the apartment and found drugs, cash, digital scales, an assault rifle and ammunition, and a loaded Hi-Point .380 caliber pistol, as well as two vehicles located on the premises.
The case, which also was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rose Mary Parham as part of Project CeaseFire, an initiative of the U.S. Attorney’s Office that seeks to aggressively prosecute gun and violent crime.
