“Evening of Music” spotlights local talent

How better to celebrate the annual concert of color, the change from the drab winter landscape to spring-green splashed by sprays of purple and hot pink, than a concert of music and dance, drawing from our very own exceptional local talent?

Arts Council Marion County presents an “Evening of Music,” at 7 p.m. on April 25, in the Marion Opera House auditorium on West Godbold Street in Marion. A $5 ticket allows visitors to hear from performers they’ve come to admire individually, all gathered for one show.

There will be Master of Ceremonies and singer, Bill Nelson; father-daughter vocalists Morris and Nikki Ward; the Baptist Men’s Quartet with Steve Mace, Edgar Hite, Norman Foxworth and Morris Ward; the Justine Roberts Dance Group; vocalist Misty Amber Brigman of the Brady family; MBC singers Shirley and Steve Mace in solo and duet; Pastor Joe Long of First United Methodist Church accompanied by his wife Kathy Jo, singer-musician, on guitar, with Biblical storytelling and song; and Beth Klauber and Kathy Jo playing bells.
