Dillon man arrested, charged with engaging in sex acts with 13-year-old girl

A 29-year-old Dillon County man is facing charges after police said he engaged in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl in Marion, according to a press release issued Friday by the State Law Enforcement Division.

William Truett Rogers of 1160 Old River Rd. is charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct and disseminating harmful material to minors, according to the release.

Agents said on Aug. 11, the suspect met the victim in a wooded area near her Marion County home where the two engaged in sexual acts.
On. Aug. 19 the suspect also sent a 13-year-old girl a sexually graphic story describing a teacher and a student engaging in sexual activities, according to the SLED arrest warrant.

The warrant was served on Rogers Wednesday.

The status of Rogers’ custody was not available.
