Dillon County authorities are investigating a shooting that took place over the weekend.

Investigators say it happened a little after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of Highway 9 and Harlees Bridge Road in Little Rock.

Capt. Cliff Arnette said a man was driving through the area and had another adult and a 7-year-old child in the vehicle with him at the time.

Arnette said when the man approached the intersection, a group of men who were standing around, began firing shots at his vehicle.

One of those shots struck the man and injured him, though the injuries were not life threatening.

Neither the other adult or the child were hurt in the incident.

Arnette said the man left the scene in his vehicle, and was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Investigators are still looking for the person or persons responsible and are asking anyone who may have information in the case, to come forward.

If you know anything about the shooting incident, please contact the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers of the Pee Dee.
