Deputies and police are searching for three suspects who broke into a home Friday and robbed several people inside, Darlington County Sheriff’s Capt. Andy Locklair said.

It happened at a home at 121 Vanessa Lane in Lamar just after midnight. One of the victims awoke and hear strange voices and saw the suspects demanding money from others in the home, Locklair said. That victim pretended to be asleep but managed to call E-911.

Police arrived while the suspects were still in the home, but the suspects fled the scene while firing weapons at officers, Locklair said.

The suspects were last scene running toward Seven Bridges Road. No injuries were reported, he said.

Anyone with any information on the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (843) 398-4501 or the statewide Crime Stoppers Hotline at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.
