Darlington man accused of exposing himself at library
A Darlington man was arrested Wednesday after a police officer saw him exposing himself at the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
Cedric Maurice Washington, 35, of 119 Bowes Mountain St. is charged with indecent exposure, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.
It happened Wednesday when a police officer patrolling the library in Florence noticed the suspect slouched down in a seat with one hand on the table and the other under the table, Raines said.
The officer walked closer and noticed the man had his pants open and was exposing himself. The officer ordered the man to zip his pants before arresting him, Raines said.
The suspect remains in custody at the jail in Effingham, but bond information wasn’t available.

Hello I know for a fact that the library is a good place to go and the computers there all are filtered also anyone who brings their own computer is blocked as well so that means 99.99% of all adult sites are blocked and is continually updated. So please don’t be afraid of taking your children there that’s why there is a policeman there.

Some of the comments on this article are really bizarre. Because a cop picks up some mentally disturbed guy fiddling with himself at the library all our children are at risk; we need to lock the monster up and throw away the key; they’re showing porn at the library; Oh, and by the way, the president is to blame as well.
Do you think maybe we’ve gotten just a little fragile? Grow up people. You’d think this is a town of five-year-olds. There have always been creeps who like to expose themselves. Throw him out of the library, lock him up for the night, get him some mental help. Did the guy kill somebody? You’d sure think so.
It certainly has NOTHING to do with what local town he is from EITHER!!!
This article has nothing to do with computers, porn or Downtown Redevelopment.
It has everything to do with people not being able to control themselves.
It has everything to do with Judges not knowing or caring to get these people off our streets (he isn’t even from here but Darlington).
It is obvious from one post that this isn’t his first, second or even third offense of some kind. So really where does the final call come from on him? The judges, and they don’t seem to be affected by it or care how others may be after it leaves before them.

Folks, We live in a DEMOCRATIC-SOCIALIST environment. If we block the porno sites at the public library ,we have denied someone of their constitutional rights to do what they want to do. Some slick lawyer might even convince folks like Mr. Washington to file suit because his rights were violated. When its all said and done i am sure someone will say to him after his hand slapping. If you want to express yourself in public be careful and not get caught.
