Florence City Council will meet Thursday morning to take a final vote regarding a proposed alcohol referendum and hear a request to buy a downtown building for the Florence Museum of Art, Science and History.
Council is considering an ordinance that would place a referendum on November’s ballot to allow Sunday alcohol sales in restaurants.
The Florence Museum, now on Spruce Street near Timrod Park, looks to relocate to the Kimbrell’s Furniture building on the 100 block of South Dargan Street.
Council also will hear a request to provide in-kind services and financing to help complete a parking lot at the new Florence Little Theatre, at Pine and Dargan streets, Florence Public Works Director Drew Griffin said.
The special called meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in Room 604 of the Florence City-County Complex, at 180 N. Irby St. For more information, call Clerk to City Council Dianne Rowan at (843) 665-3177.
