The S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs is partnering with the Florence County Public Library System to host sponsor a free shred day March 11.

Consumers are encouraged to visit the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library at 509 S. Dargan St. in Florence between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to have their sensitive documents safely shredded on-site. This free service will be provided by Carolina Record and Information Management.

State Department of Consumer Affairs staff also will be available to handle consumer complaints and questions. Consumer should bring copies of all documentation with them.

Specific questions and concerns can be addressed to Regional S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs Outreach Coordinator Hugh Crofoot. Appointments are available upon request, and he can be be reached at (803) 543-8044.

The shred day has been made possible through a collaborative effort with the Florence County Public Library Executive Director Ray McBride and Information Services Manager Aubrey Carroll.
