Man charged in Chesterfield County stabbing

A Kershaw man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a stabbing in Chesterfield County that happened last week.

Brian William Taylor is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and was booked at the Chesterfield County Detention Center, Chesterfield County Sgt. Wayne Jordan said.

A passerby noticed a woman lying in a ditch at about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 on S.C. 151, south of Jefferson, Jordan said. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the 46-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the upper left side of her body.

She was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where she was listed in critical condition but is expected to recover, Jordan said.
