Carolina Bay Clothing Company opened their doors for a preview night on Thursday.

The men’s clothing store is located on Main St. in Marion.

“We feel a lot of positive things are happening with the growth of Marion County and we wanted to be apart of it,” Gordon McLellan, co owner, said.

Five men, Mark Butler, Earl Gleason, Rodney Berry, Joe Page and Gordon McLellan, partnered together to bring a store, specializing in men’s clothing, back to Marion.  The five men said people in Marion missed Grice’s clothing store.

“We are going to try to provide what a lot of Marion people were used to and what they are going other places for now.  We want to provide what they need, if they need a special size we can order that,” Joe Page, co owner said.

Offering a unique perspective on men’s clothing is manager Haley Tucker.  They decided to hire Tucker because of her retail experience and they said they could benefit from her taste.

“I think being a female, I can offer a different outlook on things and help men pick out new clothing,” Tucker said.

In addition to selling men’s clothing, Carolina Bay will also be renting tuxedos.

Carolina Bay is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
