Bennettsville police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Wednesday.

It happened about 11 p.m. at the Quick Stop convenience store, 157 Marshall St., Lt. John Hepburn said.

Two men armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. They took the money from the clerk and fled, Hepburn said, and no one was injured during the crime.

One of the suspects is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds and wearing a bandanna over his face. The other is described as a black man about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds and wearing a hat. Both are believed to be between the ages of 20 and 24.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the police department at (843) 479-3620 or the state Crime Stoppers hotline at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.

I, for one, am getting sick and tired of reading this description of suspects involved in violent crimes in SC.  By changing just a word or two, they are so much the same in so many reports, it could be a generic description.
