Fran Hawk of Mt. Pleasant, an author of children’s books visited Britton’s Neck Elementary School and Rains Centenary Early Childhood Center.

Children in child development through second grade heard Fran talk about her book “Count Down To Fall.”

While students in third grade through fifth grade heard her talk about her book “The Story of the H. L. Hunley and Queenie’s Coin.”

Several students had the opportunity to eat lunch with her and discuss books with her. All were very excited about the experience.

Austin, a fifth grader, summed it up when he said “I can’t believe I got to eat lunch with an author.”
