Three men were arrested Thursday after police said the trio broke into a fast-food restaurant through its drive-thru window, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

Enrico Devon Jones, 17, of 3304 W. Common Road in Effingham; Demetrice Devaughne Watson-McLeod, 22, of 3807 Pineneedles Road and Javier Demetrius Cooper, 18, 408 Wilson St. are each charged with second-degree burglary, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.

The incident happened Wednesday at the Checkers on West Palmetto Street when several suspects gained entry to the building through a drive-thru window, Raines said. Police received an alarm call, responded to the location and found one of the suspects hiding in a closet. The other two were found hiding in the restaurant’s attic.

All three suspects remain in custody at the jail in Effingham.
