A 15-year-old girl accused making a bomb threat at Marlboro County High School on Oct. 28 was released on bond from a Columbia facility this week, Bennettsville Police Lt John Hepburn said.

She is charged with conveying false information regarding an attempt of a bomb threat, was arrested Saturday and taken to a Columbia facility, then later released after posting a $25,000 surety bond.

The suspect’s name is being withheld because of her age, Hepburn said. Authorities intend to pursue the charges against her as an adult, however. She is a student at the school.

Police continue to investigate a bomb threat made last week at the Marlboro County Courthouse. No arrests have been made in connection with that incident, Hepburn said.
