Driver charged with dragging officer down Ocean Boulevard
A Myrtle Beach police officer was dragged nearly two city blocks Wednesday.
Capt. David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Dept. says the officer pulled over a man driving a truck for a “drinking offense” around 8:15 p.m.
He says the man started driving while the officer was standing next to his truck.
Police said the suspect drove south with the officer attached to his truck from 11th Ave. N. Ocean Blvd., and stopped right before 9th Ave. N. Ocean Boulevard where his truck ran collided with four other vehicles.
No names in the incident have been released.
The officer was treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and is expected to recover.

I was making no assumptions other than that you appeared to be saying all 18 wheel drivers(real drivers) are good drivers! I have been on the highways enough to know there are alot of bad 18 wheel drivers out there the same as there are a lot of good ones. I said nothing about your driving, it appears that was the assumption you made. I made a general statement and stick by it.
Oh by the way. When this story was first posted it said “Truck Driver Charged with dragging officer down Ocean Blvd Thank you
No you are the one that is wrong. I have been driving an 18 wheeler for 13 1/2 yrs safe years. Plus I used to train SAFE drivers. Don’t make assumptions when you don’t know someone. That’s why I said people like that guy make a bad name for other Good Safe Truck Drivers
Susan, I think they said he was driving a truck not a truck driver. You seem to think being behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler makes a person a safe, professional “truck driver”. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Hope they throw the book at him/her. I am a Truck Driver (18 wheeler) and just because they call them a Truck Driver doesn’t mean they are. If they drive a pickup, box truck, ect doesn’t mean they are a Truck Driver. People like that give real Truck Drivers a bad name and reputation.
