Tips coming in, but no new leads in Drexel disappearance
Search continues for Brittanee Marie Drexel
Search continues for Brittanee Marie Drexel
Tomorrow marks eleven weeks since 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel went missing from Myrtle Beach.
Since April 25, there have been extensive searches for the Rochester, New York teen, from Wilmington, NC to Charleston, SC.
Despite national attention and hundreds of people looking for her, there have been no solid leads.
On Friday, a number of law enforcement agencies joined together, focusing on her search.
The investigation into finding Drexel is being led by Myrtle Beach police. Myrtle Beach police representatives met with investigators from Georgetown and Charleston County in Myrtle Beach today.
While there is no new information on where Drexel is, Sgt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said tips are still coming to police from all three counties almost every day on Drexel.
“Maybe today, somebody may see this and say well I saw something I didn’t think was important then, maybe I should report it now. And, it’s the same thing with us. Maybe, one of the investigators says something that somebody might’ve said or somebody might’ve done that really sparks something and puts the pieces of the puzzle together,” Crosby said.
So far, even after that meeting, the pieces of the puzzle just aren’t coming together for investigators.
There were reports that Drexel was spotted earlier this week in Wilmington, but those don’t appear to be true.
So investigators say they will continue to try and figure out what happened to Drexel and where she is right now.
