MURRELLS INLET - The owner of a Murrells Inlet restaurant is spearheading an effort to form a coalition of businesses to rename and re-market bike rallies along the Grand Strand.

According to a news release, Dead Dog Saloon owner Charles Campbell is working to put together the project, which will focus on the areas from Surfside Beach to the north, and Pawleys Island to the south.

The marketing strategy will include a complete disassociation with Myrtle Beach, because according to Campbell, the city “has irreparably damaged it’s brand equity with hundreds of thousands of tourists.“

According to the release, at the recent Spring Harley rally, thousands of flyers were distributed to bikers, announcing the effort, which according to Campbell, was met with great enthusiasm.

Campbell says he plans on holding a series of meetings in the coming days to gauge the interest in the plan as begin the process.

Thank You Mr. Campbell
I am sure Georgetown County needs the revenue that Horry County and the city of MB have thrown away.
